Are children welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, we are having an adult-only event, with the exclusion of those in the wedding party.
Please reach out if you have questions!
What will the weather be like?
Our guess is as good as yours! Although we are hoping for good weather, it can be extremely variable in Scotland. Average weather in this location and time of year is dry and around 15 degrees celsius.
In the case of a heat wave (fingers crossed!), please remember the Scottish sun can (and will) burn you so remember suncream (Jenni will not confirm or deny she knows this from personal experience...).
What should I wear?
We are getting all dressed up and would love for you to join us!
For those that prefer an official dress code - Cocktail attire. Fun colours/ patterns encouraged (but not obligatory)!
The ceremony venue is in a 15th Century Church, this has a roof, however with the windows open to the elements it can be chilly. Therefore, please dress accordingly (we recommend bringing a coat).
Due to cobbles/ gravel paths we strongly recommend block heels over stilettos.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony is in a 15th Century church (so please treat as an outdoor ceremony), however our reception will be indoors, with optional outdoor areas (weather allowing).
There will also be a short outdoor walk between the ceremony space and reception space.
Where should I park?
If driving, there is plenty of free parking near the front of the venue (staff will direct you on the day).
Please note - drink driving laws in Scotland are stricter than in England (zero tolerance), therefore if you are planning to drink, we recommend pre-booking a taxi back to your accommodation.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
We are having an Unplugged Ceremony, therefore we ask you do not take photos during the ceremony or the confetti throw. We have an incredible photographer Caro who will be capturing these.
After this, please go wild! Photos are strongly encouraged during the reception, dinner and dancing. We would love for you to take photos and share them with us (please spam our whatsapp!).
What time will the wedding start/ end?
We ask guests to arrive at 1:30pm for a 2pm ceremony start time. The party will end at midnight, therefore please book your return travel for just after this time.
Full details of timings for the day are on the Home Page of this website.
Is there a gifts registry?
We understand the considerable expense of attending a wedding and gifts are absolutely not expected or required, your gift to us is your attendance at the wedding!
For those who are keen to do so we kindly request you select from our gift registry available on the Gifts section of our website.
What if I want to donate my services to a cause instead of give a gift?
If you have a particular skill you would like to donate, please do get in touch!
Will last names be changing after the wedding?
We will both be remaining as we are called now - so please refrain from referring to David as Mr McLeod ;)
Can I plant my invite?
Yes! There are wildflower seeds embedded in the paper of your invite. To plant simply place your seed paper on soil that is slightly compressed, but not too hard-packed. Add 1/8 inch of soil on top of the paper and give it a good drink of water. Make sure it's always moist and in a sunny spot. Wait for sprouts — you should see them within 7-10 days!
